Relocation to Potter County TX - Home Appraisal Report
December 13th, 2012 1:09 PM
Potter County, part of the metropolitan area of Amarillo, Texas, is located in the northwestern part of the state. Many people are drawn to the relaxed lifestyle,  and the area has seen tremendous growth in recent years. The friendly residents, mild weather, rural setting, peaceful and quiet setting and the ample amount of superb local foods, make Potter County a mecca for people who enjoy the simpler things in life.

With its emphasis on a more relaxed lifestyle, Potter County has a number of recreational areas designed so that residents can get outside and enjoy the mild weather. The Alibates Flint Quarries National Monument, Sanford Recreation area and the Lake Meredith National Recreation area are just a few of the reservoirs, lakes and creeks in the county. With its proximity to the bustling city of Amarillo, residents and visitors are never far from the convenience of shopping, cultural museums, employment opportunities and the vast educational opportunities to be found at Amarillo College. West Texas A&M University is located in nearby Canyon.

HOUSING: As the popularity of Potter County has grown, so has the demand for housing in the area. With average housing costs hovering around $120,000, however, the region is still an affordable option for those who desire to move there. Home Sellers: in order to ensure that a home is priced competitively for the market, particularly as the Armarillo metropolitan area and the southern part of the county are expected to see higher than average growth, it is best to procure the services of a real estate appraiser for a pre-listing appraisal. This is true even if you consult a real estate agent. This professional will take an objective look at the fair market value. This value also takes into account the likely future trends of real estate in the area.

Townhomes in Potter County are selling for an average of just under $73,000. These attached housing units are generally a good option for families and young people just getting started out. Having such a unit appraised by a trained real estate appraiser before placing it on the market enables a fair price to be generated for it, and the home to sell (usually) more quickly.
